Trollbeads Fantasy Necklace

In my last Trollbeads-related post, I reviewed the lovely In Your Heart pendant which matches wonderfully with the Pearl Fantasy necklace. I feel that the Pearl Fantasy necklace deserves its own review, so without further ado, here we go. :)

The fantasy necklace is available in different styles and different lengths. The necklace I chose has a hanging pearl, but the other styles are gorgeous too such as the fantasy fairy and black onyx. I wear the 31.5 inch necklace as that’s what I’m most comfortable with.

There are a number of ways to wear this necklace. In the image above, ‘The Original’ design is shown in which you simply slide your beads down the chain through the loop end of the necklace. If you’re lucky enough to own a Trollbeads three-hole bead, which I currently do not, you can use it to create even more interesting designs. (To see more fantasy necklace designs, please go to the Trollbeads official website and find the FAQ section for more information.)

Since Trollbeads also makes beautiful and highly-detailed locks (which are used as clasps for Trollbeads bracelets), I wanted to create a necklace design that would incorporate the lock as well. I fiddled around with my necklace, beads, and lock for a little while and then came up with this design which I am calling the Hinged Collar. Mind you, I’m probably not the first person to come up with this idea, but I have looked at lots of designs by other fellow Troll fans and did not find this. For now, I will call it mine (until I am told otherwise).

I think this looks similar to the ‘Lariat’, but worn short almost like a choker.

I will now share how to create this design.

:)

Hinged Collar – instructions

For this design, you will need a fantasy necklace, a lock, and a few beads.

  1. Slide beads onto the chain through the loop end of the necklace.

  2. Attach the smaller eye of the lock to the jump ring above the hanging pearl. IMG_1072
  3. Attach the larger eye of the lock to the loop end of the necklace. IMG_1078

Ta-dah! That was pretty simple, right?

How do you like to wear your fantasy necklace?
