Today’s post is about charm beads from ThinkGeek.
A few years ago, I was super excited when I discovered that they sell charm beads for geeks. There aren’t many choices, but they come in a variety of metals including sterling silver, stainless steel, gold-plated, and alloy. They even have a few charms from Ohm Beads and I do really like Ohm Beads.
I bought the Star Wars Stormtrooper and R2-D2 charms a while ago. These two are made of stainless steel and feel a bit heavier than the sterling silver charms that I’m used to. I love that stainless steel is highly durable and hypoallergenic.
I believe that only R2-D2 is still available at the moment, but they have added other Star Wars charms too. Their stock tends to sell out fast and you never really know when or if they will restock their charms. If you see something that you must have, then you may want to act fast.
The Star Wars charms are slightly bigger than my Pandora charms, but the difference isn’t very noticeable in pictures, as you can see below.
Something I should mention about R2-D2 is that the back is plain. I wish they would’ve added details to the back of charm too.
ThinkGeek has all the merchandise that I love. But what I don’t love about them is the shipping costs to Canada, so it’s not often that I order from their website unless there’s a sweet sale and or I’m getting exclusive items that I can’t buy from anywhere else.
I think it’s cool that they have a “Geek Points” system that lets you earn rewards every time you make a purchase. I have earned a couple of fun items using my Geek Points.
Are you a fan of ThinkGeek and have you bought any charm beads from them? Please share in the comments below!
